Sir Alexander Cadogan (1884-1968)

The Permanent Under Secretary at the Foreign Office from 1938 to 1946, he had noted in his diary that he had 'deprecated' WINSTON CHURCHILL's correspondence with FRANKLIN ROOSEVELT that had been routed through the American Embassy in London.

Louis-Ferdinand Céline (1894-1961)

Céline was a French novelist admired by ANNA WOLKOFF because they shared the same anti-Jewish opinions. MI5 obtained copies of some of their correspondence and these are now in the National Archives.

Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965)

Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain brought Churchill into his War Cabinet after declaring war on Germany on 3 September 1939. He replaced Chamberlain as Prime Minister on 10 May 1940.

6th Earl of Cottenham (1903-1943)

Also known as Mark Pepys and as a former racing driver. He headed up MI5's Transport Section during the early part of WWII. He also knew ANNA WOLKOFF socially.
