Alexander Wolkoff-Mouromtzoff (1844-1928)
The grandfather of ANNA WOLKOFF who, according to Anna, had been one of the most erudite men in Russia. Three of his water colours, painted under the name of A.N. Roussoff, are in the Victoria & Albert Museum. Latterly, he lived in a palace in Venice but lost his great fortune as a result of the Bolshevik Revolution. |

Anna Wolkoff (1902-1973)
Anna was the eldest of four children of ADMIRAL WOLKOFF. The family
came to London in 1913 and stayed after the Bolshevik Revolution. During
adulthood, she always referred to herself as 'De Wolkoff'. She became a
dress designer and artist and took out British Nationality in 1935. Her
business collapsed in 1939. She joined CAPTAIN RAMSAY's RIGHT CLUB before the war and regarded herself as Ramsay's
aide-de-camp. |

Admiral Nicholas Wolkoff (1870-1954)
He served as Naval Attaché at the Russian Imperial Embassy in
London until he lost his position in the wake of the Bolshevik Revolution.
He and his family remained in London and, latterly, he and his wife ran the RUSSIAN TEA ROOMS. He was interned.
